The world has global problems, but no global democracy to solve them. AI safety, climate change, and economic inequality ignore borders, yet our political systems are locked inside them. The World Republic fills this gap by building the missing layer of governance—a platform where every human has a direct voice in the decisions that define our collective future.

How World Republic governance works today

The World Republic is currently in an early stewardship phase. During incubation, the founding team manages platform execution so our election system, verification workflows, and party infrastructure can be tested and refined rapidly.

How control shifts over time

The World Republic follows a progressive democratization roadmap:
  1. Phase 1 (current): Stewardship and incubation
Governance is non-binding while test elections validate systems and support political party development.
  2. Phase 2: Constitution ratification
A global referendum ratifies the constitution and formalizes the permanent governance framework.
  3. Phase 3: Citizen governance
Binding elections transfer full governing authority to citizens under constitutional rules.
Phase transitions depend on readiness criteria such as security, participation, and institutional maturity rather than fixed calendar dates.

What protects users in every phase

The governance timeline changes who governs, but core user protections remain constant.
  • Open-source infrastructure: Core systems are publicly auditable.
  • No lock-in: You retain control of your identity and assets.
  • Political privacy: Your vote is private and cannot be tied to your real identity.
These safeguards protect you during stewardship and remain non-negotiable under full citizen governance.
